This Eden gate house got a downstairs renovation and fitted kitchen Delgany July 2016. There was originally 2 rooms with limited natural light throughout the day. The kitchen was in the front of the house with the living room at the rear. This was swapped. The partition was taken out to allow light to flow though the whole downstairs of the house.
First job was to take up the tiles and flooring. The cables and plumbing were ran through the walls, ceiling and ground for the island. The patching and plastering could now start getting ready for a fresh coat of paint. New down lights were positioned over the new living space to highlight areas of the kitchen and seating areas.
Once these were laid the Balterio coral white Oak could be laid. There wa 49sq meters in total of flooring with specially designed underlay that dampens noise when walking on it and is moisture resistant.
There was a new stud and frosted glass door from Chadwicks put between the new room and the front hallway.
The idea of having white units, worktop and flooring helps with the feeling of light flowing through the house.
The doors are gloss white and handle-less, the worktop on the island is a solid Ash from Noyeks was stained white and the worktop housing the ceramic white sink is a matt white laminate. The 3/4 unit at the end houses pull out ladrer baskets. The tall unit at the other end hides the boiler with storage for brooms, hoovers and any other large items. A square cornice is fitted to all tall units to finish them off.
All doors and drawers are soft close with cutlery trays and a beech peg board for holding the plates and bowls.
